I need new ideas because I am STUCK

It is so easy to fall into a routine, right?

Every morning your alarm goes off an hour before you need to be someplace, you drink your water on the way downstairs to meditate, meditate, coffee, back upstairs to get dressed and ready and then on to the day. (Maybe that is just me!)

This is what made March 16th, 2020, so disorienting, any need for routine went out the window because we had no where to go and nothing to do!

Fast forward (or slow forward) over the past 17 months and now we have fallen into our new routines and sometimes those routines cause us to feel stuck.

Do you eat the same thing for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

Do you do the same workout the same way, same time, same weights?

Do these things work for you?

Do you feel your best when you get out of bed every day?

If the answer is yes and you feel great and energized and happy. Stick with it, routine works!

For most people, the answer is no. We feel stuck in the routine and unable to break those barriers, until now!

CHANGE #1: MAKE ONE SMALL CHANGE

  • Incorporate an additional portion of vegetables into your day

  • Drink one more glass of water

  • Drink one less alcoholic beverage

Stick with that one small change for 4 weeks. Notice the changes and then ADD another one!

CHANGE #2: TRY A NEW WORKOUT. Your body will plateau if you do the same thing on the same time, at the same time, in the same way every week. If you have been following the same routine, do something different. Take a rest day! Make the rest day YOGA day. I just googled 'Bedtime Yin Yoga' on YouTube and cannot wait to incorporate that into my bedtime routine. Something new for my body to try and appreciate.

Incorporate this new workout for 4 weeks. Notice the changes and then ADD another one!

CHANGE #3: PAY ATTENTION TO HOW YOU FEEL. If you have executed the small change for 4 weeks and the new workout for 4 weeks, do you feel stuck or ready to add another new habit?

Your body is meant to be challenge and stimulated, your brain is meant to be challenged and stimulated. Use these ideas to do both! Challenge your brain, challenge your body and feel like the best version of you every day!
