I learned two really amazing nutrition lessons from my mom:
1) Eat the rainbow
2) Enjoy anything in moderation
Also, never scrimp on toilet paper, but that is a side bar :)
These are lessons that I learned years ago that have really stuck and continue to influence my current eating habits. Do you follow those guidelines or is your plate all brown?

RED: Beets, Tomatoes, Red Cabbage, Red Pepper, Red Onion, Red Leaf Lettuce
ORANGE/YELLOW: Orange Pepper, Acorn Squash, Yellow Pepper, Carrots, Butternut Squash, Carrots, Pumpkin, Summer Squash.
GREEN: Green Beans, Kale, Arugula, Brussel Sprouts, Green Peppers, Asparagus, Chard, Spinach
Cucumbers, Snap Peas
PURPLE: (who knew!?) Purple Cabbage, Purple Asparagus, Purple Cauliflower
